1937年，根据中共中央指示，以北上抗日先遣队的突围部队为基础，以粟裕为师长、刘英为政委，在浙江组建红军挺进师，建立游击根据地。蒋介石为了防止这支武装力量发展壮大，拉拢地方武装，多次对红军进行围剿，在此情形下，挺进师在磐安、缙云、永康一带成立红挺一纵队，开展革命斗争活动，在1937年，红挺一纵队红军突破国军重围，撤离磐安根据地，奔赴抗日前线。杨晓芸因父母早逝，与奶奶相依为命，在朱山村过着清苦的生活，邻村的铁牛从小与晓芸放牛割草，青梅竹马，两人已经到了谈婚论嫁的年龄。这一天突然来了一群国民党官兵，是来招募壮丁的，磐安县驻扎的国军29旅旅长张大财是个地方保安团长，蒋介石为了拉拢地方武装围剿共产党，给张大财封了个旅长，因此张大财到处招兵买马，充实自己的力量。国军排长黄阿三带着孔老二、刘二狗、黄四喜、周大皮等几个国军，经过磐安一处村落，经过一番打斗后铁牛被绑...
