剧集聚焦扎克瑞·昆图饰演的查理·曼克斯——一个食用小孩子的生命气息来保持青春的超自然人物，在食用了孩子们的生气后，曼克斯把他们的身体储存在“圣诞乐园”。这是地个冰冷、扭曲、曼克斯想象中的圣诞村庄，在那里，每天都是圣诞节，不快乐是违法的，而孩子们渐渐变成食尸鬼一般的存在。艾什利·康宁斯(《费雪小姐探案集》《金翅雀》)饰演女主——一位来自新英格兰的少女维克·麦昆，她的出现威胁了曼克斯的整个世界。
